How to play stellaris robots2/17/2023 ![]() ![]() It'd be like playing militarist and NOT waging aggressive wars. Robots for materialists are almost mandatory since otherwise you're wasting a benefit of being materialist. Robots for spiritualists are not always a good idea and are pretty situational because they SERIOUSLY upset the spiritualist faction and pretty seriously lower spiritualist attraction, both lowering influence gain. Which option will give you a better position in the mid- & late-game is something you have to decide for yourself.ĭepends on your ethics and your ascension path. This might sound like a short term price for a mid & long term gain however because of the snowball nature of Stellaris this is not a obvious decision at all.Ĭonsider it like this: You can spend those resources on robots, but you could also spend it on a fleet and use that to conquer your neighbour. This is great, especially for egalitarians (since their workers cost more CG than authoritarian ones) however don't forget this bonus has to first make up for the 2 "upkeep pops". Robots also cost no consumer goods upkeep and only half housing & ameneties. ![]() You also 'lose' a building slot on every planet, so in the early game that might cost you some alloy foundries or research labs. That means 100 months (~8.3 years) until you come out on top. It does cost you 2 pops though (per planet obvs) (1 roboticist + 1 miner upkeep). Having robots means +2 pop growth (or +66% if you compare it to the other growth buildings). Robots are definitely strong, but they are far from mandatory. ![]()
